Roles allocated

Making sure we have enough time to complete everything, we have given ourselves roles in which we will have to fulfill in order to complete our short film, Poster and magazine review. We have decided that we would make an ancillary task each but we would help each other out.

We decided that We wouold share all of the responsibilities, therefore we would both film, direct, decide the costume and location and also write the script.

We created some storyboards which lewis has uploaded onto his blog this is a link.

Serial Mom

Serial mom is about a housewife that turns into a serial killer. The film starts off with the family having a normal breakfast. Everything looks perfect then police comes round to say that a neighbour is being harrised and asked if they know anything about it. you later find out that its the mum harrising the neighbour every morning she rings her us and shouts ause at her, we find out that this started because the neighbour took her parking space at a shopping car park. from then on you see her kill people for simple things.

What type of audience

from looking at the different effects models, i feel our audince would apply to the obstinate theory, this means the audience would work out their own views on the film, this means they might have different opinions on who is the 'villain'

Press complaints commission

We are creating a Magazine review for our short film. I decided to look into the organisation that sets the guidelines for a magazine review. The press complaints commission.

Like the Advertising standards authority these are just guidelines and not rules like the BBFC, this means that if people dont apply to these, they do not have the authority to prosecute however they are able to help those who want to complain and instruct them on how they can do so.

Another simularity to the ASA is that you also have to self regulate your magazine review.

Influences

For the short film we are creating we were influnced by the director Quentin Taranto. This is because when researching we realised that in some films he uses hyper reality when there are greusome scenes. for example in kill Bill she kills lots of people in a short period of time, the way she does this is over the top of reality. this is to disconnect the audience from the film and make them realise it is not real, therefore that could not happen to them. We liked this as this is a good way to show violence but not in a very serious way, the audience will be more inclined to just laugh then to take it seriously.

Advertising Standards Authority

For our poster we are creating I looked at the Advertising Standards Authority website, this will tell me the guidelines of what i am able to show or advertise in my poster. However unlike the BBFC these are not rules they are just guidelines, this means that they are not able to prosecute people. Although they do expect advertisers to self-regulate meaning the person creating the advert known what he or she should or shouldnt show in an advert but its their choice in how they make their advertisement.
Therefore when making our poster we will apply with the guidelines.
